Erika Killam

Studio Co-Owner // Erika's interest in yoga and meditation began at an early age when she used to make her friends sit and meditate while listening to the sounds of Enigma!

Her formal studies began in 2004 with Alan Finger and the 200hr ISHTA Yoga Teacher Training program in New York.  Upon completion of this program she began teaching on a regular basis for Elements Yoga and Wellness Centre in Darien, CT.  Erika managed the studio during her 5 years with the Elements Yoga family. She had the amazing opportunity to deepen her yoga studies when she completed 308hrs with Ross Rayburn and Bernadette Birney in Anusara Yoga.

In 2009 Erika arrived on Prince Edward Island where she assisted Dynamic Fitness in launching their Hot Yoga division.  She was invited on as Lead Trainer with Maritime Yoga College and has been instructing aspiring yoga instructors since 2013. In 2018, for the first time, Erika ventured out on her own to develop 3eYoga: Engage, Enliven, Empower.  Through this independent yoga venture she has been able to share her teachings throughout various studios across the island.

She is very excited to launch The Space at Blackbush, a movement studio for the community of Grand Tracadie and guests of the Hotel Acadia.

Her mission as a yoga instructor is to inspire new "a-ha" moments for the seasoned practitioner and crush any misconceptions a new yoga student might have about yoga being "boring"!

Carrie Lundy

Carrie began practicing yoga in 2006 when the first Moksha studio opened up in her hometown of Winnipeg. While the benefits of a physical practice were immense almost immediately, she returned to her mat daily for the emotional and mental health support that yoga gifted her. Carrie knew that yoga was the path for her to live a more balanced life, so she signed up for the Moksha training in Kerala, India in 2009. She loves sharing the many benefits of yoga with others and is now trained in Moksha, Moksha Flow, Vinyasa, Yin and Kids Yoga.

As an Early Years teacher, Carrie is also passionate about guiding children in their own self-regulation practices. Carrie is a lifelong learner, committed to staying open and growing as both student and instructor. She is very excited to begin teaching at the Charlottetown Yoga Space, where you will find her on Monday nights leading classes focused on breath work, the heart space and flowing movement with intention.

Alanna Ratushniak

When Alanna began practicing yoga over a decade ago, she quickly found value in the practice for her mental health. In 2020, she completed her YTT 200, studying under Colin
Hall and Sarah Garden in Regina, Saskatchewan. She spent two years teaching in Regina before moving to PEI in 2023.

Alanna's love of yoga stems from its ability to provide the practitioner with what they need - from quiet moments of reflection to an expressive, energizing practice. Guiding classes with an emphasis on how a practice should feel, rather than how it should look, she aims to create fun and inclusive classes.

Chris Skinner

Chris first discovered yoga in the early 2000's, but initially only maintained an inconsistent dvd-based practice at home. It wasn't until after a hip injury in 2017 that he began to develop a more serious yoga practice. He's always been fascinated with movement; having grown up skateboarding and snowboarding, understanding how the body moves (and the sizable impact that even the smallest variations in movement can make) has been a key area of focus. This interest was reinforced as he began practicing martial arts in 2010 and started learning more about efficient movement, which is a concept he brings onto the mat.

Chris loves to build fun and challenging classes that get you to explore and maximize your range of motion.

Alissa Archibald

The daughter of a yoga "travelling" artist and writer, and a world travelling hippy, Alissa learned from a young age that the mind was not connected to the body, but was indeed part of the body.

Introduced to the practice by her mom, her family attended Axel Molema's classes on the cold floors of the local community centre for many years, holding gently onto Axel's words of guidance, as the cheers from the hockey game floated through the walls during many Thursday evenings.

It was on those cold floors, and later on the warmer floors of the Sivananda Yoga Centre in Toronto, and the Ashrams in Val Morin and Bahamas, that Alissa found a home in the practice of yoga.

Alissa graduated from the Sivananda Vedanta Academy in 2014. Following her 200 hr teacher training, she studied restorative yoga under Marla Joy, and post-natal yoga with Sue Elkind, as well as yoga birthing method with Dorothy Guerra.

Alissa is a trained birth doula, a reiki practitioner and mother of two young adventurers. Her mission as a teacher is to share the benefits of a practice that has shaped her world, activated change over and over in her life, and brought her home again and again.

Tim Hamming

Tim is a carpenter, a musician, an islander, a lover of life. His first yoga pose was vrksasana, Tree Pose, in the PEI Strathgartney provincial park campground , summer of 2000, For many years he has dabbled in the asanas, attended yoga classes, studied yoga for dummies, practiced meditation, and explored the spiritual journey.

In 2020, after many years of coping with lower back pain and other physical stresses, and
mental stresses, he came upon Yoga in a new way. Five years of focussed training and a few hundred yoga classes later, there is still occasional backpain lol, but now with a clearer understanding of the body and how to work with it.

“ the body and mind are not separate, what affects one affects the other” author unknown.

Tim is a Maritime Yoga School Teacher Training (200hr) student of 2025, and even though he said he probably wasn’t going to teach, here he is. He wants you to get into your body, really really get into it, have a look around, pay attention to what’s going on in there, and then maybe find a few new practices that can help you navigate this beautiful existence here on earth.

Amanda Citrome

Amanda Citrome is a recent graduate of the Maritime Yoga Teacher Training program, where she deepened her lifelong connection to yoga. Her training not only enriched her personal practice but also sparked a commitment to share yoga as a tool for connection, resilience, and self-discovery.

When she's not teaching or practicing yoga, Amanda enjoys kayaking, hiking, and spending time with her family—activities that, like yoga, keep her grounded and connected to the present moment. She is dedicated to creating a welcoming space where students can explore their bodies and minds, cultivating calm, strength, and presence. Whether you're just beginning your yoga journey or looking to deepen your practice, her classes are designed to be grounding, accessible, and nurturing.

Joanne Costain

Joanne credits Yoga for helping her get through many years of physical pain due to stage 4 endometriosis and adenomyosis diagnosis. She found herself on her mat more than 15 years ago and doesn't leave home without it. In 2011 she completed her first 200 hour teacher training with her instructor Billy Gekas in Hatha and Ayurveda.  In 2012 she had the honour of completing her Reiki level 1 and level 2 also with her first teacher Billy Gekas. In 2016 she completed a challenging 300 hour teacher training program for vinyasa level 1 with Breathe Yoga Studio in Toronto.  In June of 2025 she completed another incredible 200 hour teacher training program with Maritime Yoga here on beautiful PEI.  Now with 700 hours of teacher training behind her, she is excited and humbled to share the gift of Yoga with our lovely Island community.  When not on her mat she enjoys walking with her husband and dogs, and swimming on the far side of Tracadie Island.

Cathy MacPherson

Cathy has been practicing yoga since 2010, first drawn to the calm it offered during those very busy early years of raising a family. With her children grown and a return to her home province of Prince Edward Island, Cathy’s renewed desire to broaden her experience and deepen her understanding of yoga led her to Maritime Yoga College Teacher Training Program (class of 2025) Cathy’s professional background is rooted in the health professions, first as a registered nurse and later in various roles in health administration. In addition to yoga, Cathy is an avid potter — a creative practice that, like yoga, invites patience, presence, and joy in the process. A dedicated learner, Cathy looks forward to expanding her knowledge while sharing what she’s learned through her recent training. Cathy is excited to be guiding a Monday morning Hatha yoga class at Charlottetown Yoga Space.
