Her mission as a yoga instructor is to inspire new "a-ha" moments for the seasoned practitioner and crush any misconceptions a new yoga student might have about yoga being "boring"!

Jo Costain
Joanne credits Yoga for helping her get through many years of physical pain due to stage 4 endometriosis and adenomyosis diagnosis.
She found herself on her mat more than 15 years ago and doesn't leave home without it. In 2011 she completed her first 200 hour teacher training with her instructor Billy Gekas in Hatha and Ayurveda. In 2012 she had the honour of completing her Reiki level 1 and level 2 also with her first teacher Billy Gekas. In 2016 she completed a challenging 300 hour teacher training program for vinyasa level 1 with Breathe Yoga Studio in Toronto. In June of 2025 she completed another incredible 200 hour teacher training program with Maritime Yoga here on beautiful PEI.
Now with 700 hours of teacher training behind her, she is excited and humbled to share the gift of Yoga with our lovely Island community. When not on her mat she enjoys walking with her husband and dogs, and swimming on the far side of Tracadie Island.

Leone Curtis
Yoga has been a grounding part of Leone's life for over 20 years, and her practice has helped her grow stronger, more flexible, more fearless and more balanced both on and off the mat. Yoga inspires Leone to live each moment more mindfully.
Leone completed her 200 hour RYT under the excellent guidance of Sam and Erika at Maritime Yoga College. There is so much to know in the journey of yoga. She has had the opportunity, through further education courses, to deepen her awareness of Yin and Restorative Yoga, Subtle Yoga, Yoga for Healing and Recovery (She Recovers, Y12SR), Somatics Blend Yoga, Mindfulness Meditation and so on. She will always be a student of yoga and is deeply grateful for the loving wisdom her teachers have shared with her on the journey.
In Leone's classes, she loves to help others nurture the body, mind and soul connection with their yoga. Her hope is that her students will step off the mat feeling refreshed and renewed, nourished and balanced.

Karla Crawford
Karla Crawford found her passion for Pilates in 2006 when she needed a fitness solution that
would be easy on her joints but still feel like she was getting a workout. In 2009 she completed
her Stott Pilates training with Kim Kraushar at the Interlude Spa in Halifax. Karla taught Pilates
at The Pilates Centre for a few years and then in the fitness studio at Holland College. In 2013,
she expanded her fitness repertoire and became a Qualified TRX Suspension Fitness trainer and
later Total Barre. Karla continues to teach in her community of West Covehead part time while
still incorporating the foundations of Pilates.
Karla’s teaching philosophy is rooted in the Stott Pilates method, which emphasizes precise
movement patterns, core strength, and postural alignment. I believe in providing a balanced
approach that focuses on improving flexibility, strength, and functional movement while
tailoring each session to the individual’s needs. By creating a supportive and mindful
environment, I empower my clients to develop both physical and mental resilience

Her classes explore the benefits of a flowing practice, with the hope of facilitating more strength and flexibility in her students, while also acknowledging and understanding the importance of breath work and meditation for her students overall wellbeing.
Outside of the studio, Willow loves, creating, whether its sewing, knitting, leatherwork, or gardening she does a bit of all.

Jocelyn Martin
Jocelyn has been a movement enthusiast since the early days of her youth and found her yoga practice just prior to beginning post secondary education in kinesiology and pharmacy. Yoga became Jocelyn’s primary movement practice as it helped to increase strength, flexibility and agility while simultaneously contributing to her mental well-being.
Jocelyn completed her 200 hour YTT in 2019 following moving to the island from Saskatchewan through physical therapist Lara Heimann and the LYT Method. LYT is a modern method of movement that is based on the principles of physiology, kinesiology and neurology that aids in creating efficient movement patterns. After having her children, this core based movement practice has been ever more important in finding her centre both on and off the mat.
Jocelyn is happy and excited to find her home at The Space Movement Studio to teach this challenging and rewarding movement practice to others.
